Default Reset Button functionality

Hi,

I am having a wix window which has the following buttons,

1. Browse button - to browse the path to install the files, when
user clicks this button a new window opens and shows the browse
window, and if user selects the path it shown the previous screen
where the browse button located. I have to show user's "Programfiles
\MyApp\" as default path and user can choose the other paths using
the button.
2. Reset button - to reset the selected path from the current screen
where the browse button located. When this button clicked the current
selection from user should be cleared and the above specified default
path should be displayed.

I am able to do the 1st step, but I am not able to do the step 2. But
when I click on the reset button my previous selected value is not
getting reset rather it shows the same value that user selected.

Text="$(loc.CustomizeDlgReset)">
<Publish Event="SelectionPath"
Value ="[ProgramFilesFolder]myworks\myapp">1
</Publish

</Control>
I am pretty new to this works, if any working samples available or
shared would be helpful. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Hey there.

If I understand it properly, you probably need to use mini pages and use links with 'go to state' behaviours on them to take viewers back to previous options.

I hope that helps. If not, have you got a link to your site just to get a better understanding. Thanks!

Question reset button hint required

Hi,

I am also facing the same issue

After user selects some other location to install the product, if he/she press Reset button, the this button does not change the selected location to default location.

Step1: Just under the features list, there exist one label:
________
Location: C:\Program Files\Abc Company\ | Browse. |
-------------

Step2: Now, user clicks on Browse button just near to this location, and selects other location as shown below:
________
Location: C:\New Product\ | Browse. |
-------------
Step 3: Now, press Reset button, all the selected features are restored back to all the selection, but this path does not get changed back to default path in step1.

If anybody has any idea, then welcome! I am trying to find out something and if I will get anything, then will be back.

Cheers,
DK

Thumbs down

Please develop a sample wix application with few features listed, then build it and then use that generated setup file.
When you will move to features list in generated installer, there will be an option to selecte the location to intall the product. Change this location using Browse button, and then click on Reset button. It will not change the selected location to the default on on screen.

Hope you will create the installer with Browse and Reset functionality.

Cheers,
Darshit Dave
