Ok, first up. Thanks Nat for once again reassuring that we will be receiving the updates, but i have heard that all before. Also, if you are receiving these requests through emails as you say, why bother with the Wix pioneers forum? Not one significant thing has been changed that has been mentioned in these forums.. do the devs even see these?

@ Doymarn

My projects also rely heavily on the updates that i have asked for months in advance but have not seen, we are in the same boat.

The issues i have brought up are the only ones stopping me from purchasing an upgraded site.

Also,
you guys really have to get one thing straight: If you are serious about hosting professional websites, cut the crap and get rid of ALL the advertising on paid sites. i thought that was just common sense.

I have held back a couple of projects on the expectation of the HTML container, the Sign Up and private and public section access control. I have another project that is waiting for a richer set of behavior events... like playing our own sounds on click or rollover events for example (which is another common wish i have seen).

"In the works" is nice but won't keep our bread on the table while we wait, so we need to look for other projects which are not dependent on these features... if they will not be in place in this update.

If this is the end of the feature inclusion for this update, it would be good of Wix to tell us so that we can at the least address our work issues appropriately... if there is a list of small feature changes it would also be nice to see them... some of them could be a big feature for a waiting project.

Another, important issue which is a general industry standard with updates is a bug list fixed report... is there one for this update?

Hoping there is more but knowing definitely what will not be in it is more helpful than silence... especially with a feature as fundamentally important and popular as the HTML container.

Hoping you can help us too as much as we like helping you test out new stuff
I am bumping this because it looks like it was just ignored!

Just played with comments feature... feedback:-

Bug ... used 2comments changed colour of background to black and then the text colour to white... only the name of the sender colour actually changed, the content of the comment stayed black (therefore invisible on a black background).

Suggestion, there is a minimum size of the comment box enforced, which in my view is much too big... why don't you allow it to scale like you do with the contact form?

Sorry but my general feeling on the comments as currently designed is that it will not be at all attractive to use them. The reason being is that anyone can make comments, just by identifying themselves with a name they enter!... this will only attract all the idiots in the world to say stupid things or worse and will provide an ideal platform for spammers to stuff the comments with spam.

I think you have to provide identification of the sender (email) and a bot catcher (pic of code to be entered) and then the comment feature should have the ability of the web site owner to specify that they want to moderate all new new comments... i.e by accepting them by email confirmation for example.

I also currently see no easy way for the web site moderator (owner) to delete comments other than go into the editor to delete the comments... which is totally unrealistic for the real world.

Quick feedback on the document upload/download:-

Bug... Colour changes... the background colour even though selected as a plain colour (black for example) will present the change as a colour gradient only.

Suggestions:-

a) Allow the option to display the text of the filename or not.
b) Allow for a description text box to show some text description for the file, like you do optionally on pics in a gallery.
c) Why limit the file types to specific entries of pdf, doc etc. I understand the concern to identify categories of entries and not overlap with pics and videos but it would be useful to have a generic file upload/download facility. Perhaps limited by file size, so as to obviate abuse.

I absolutely LOVE the text scroll bars. I only actually use one scroll bar on my website, but for some reason the actual text in those paragraphs looks so much more polished that I actually replaced EVERY paragraph on my website to a scrolling one.

I'm assuming that my current wix has been upgraded so I can test new features. Unfortunately, I'm unable to find anything about uploading documents, twitter, a paypal shopping cart, etc...

Hello I've just joined the wix pioneer corps and am looking for my first mission. I haven't had any instructions in my in box but I've seen the questions here and I'm on to it. Look forward to leaving some comments soon.

to start with the scroll bar text boxes are an excellent way of getting lots of information wich would otherwise clog up a great looking page onto a page .....great idea and I look forward to using them in my next design.

Ok now a few comments.

I've tested areas and I like it. Its fast flexible and you can overlay the areas with photos and get the text in you want. Good job so far.

Someone commented that they would like folders to organize their uploaded images. I fully agree. Im working on 3 websites for clients and the images are now on 10 pages and a jumbled mess. On my computer I keep client images in separate folders so why not here?

more soon
