Sign Up - Sign in / Sign out | Member interface NEEDED!

I believe strongly that for Wix to progress in the area of social networking, marketing sites and many other aspects; Wix must roll out a Sign Up - Sign in / Sign out member system for integration in yours and my Wix sites.

Please advise to whether you are with me on this, fellow Pioneers.

Explain what YOU could achieve from this idea or how you could have some better ideas.

So come on, "sign up" your ideas to this thread and show us why you were selected for this BETA program we are participating in!

Personally I'm totaly in on that, and I think Wix is in it too, because we're already working on developing it

So this would be a great time to hear what other Pioneers think of this, and if you guys have any specific ideas regarding this feature, don't be shy. I hope I can let you guys get a Pioneers preview on it really soon!

We don't have any fixed dates at this time. For now, if you need these feats, embed your wix in pages you can prog this way ( let try rhe WYSIWYG web builder 6, you can now build private access with two fingers in the noise with).

If you are just talking about site access control with Sign IN and OUT then yes, i am all for it and suggest you incorporate OpenID as your access control.

If you are talking about full on social networking then for features and design input, I would suggest that you have a look at other customisable social network services like SocialGo.com, WebJam.com which seem to be cornering this market and they provide very good products... i use them both.

Ning is another that did well at one time (but falling out of popularity now because they messed with their users by the looks of it).

I am waiting to integrate my social networks into my Wix sites when the HTML / Iframing becomes available shortly ( i hope ). I personally like the idea of not having all my eggs in the same basket and services focusing on what they are really good at.

My only reservation with Wix developing an integrated social network service is that it is very data and activity intensive and i wouldn't like to see the overall response times of Wix degrade because the the system is being intensely overloaded serving mega amounts of traffic to satisfy the various social networks membership activities.

My suggestion is if you do go along the social networking route is that you implement an OpenID sign on ability and that the membership data is easily migrated IN and OUT of the networks and most critically that you host your social network activity databases and social network architecture separate to the hosting infrastructure for sites that don't use the social network functionality.

For now, we count on the html embeder more than on social tools implementations ( we think about but nothing really consistent for now as we have to work hard on the system stabilisation).

Yeah, there def needs to be that! Embedding into a different site is ok, but then you need to find a website builder which has a login script on and can support html!,

I'm not a web designer by any means, so from a beginners side of things I would love to have a sign up / sign in system but I agree if it will slow things down then that would be a negative. I need this type of setup for my site I'm building and I would really appreciate it if someone could show me how to use another system and integrate into my site, thanks to wix and all its members
