New Version Testing Part 1

My site was slow loading with Foxfire, patchy, and missing content on various pages. The Internet Explorer version was not as slow, and of my content was there. Usually it is the other way around. IE has issues vs. Foxfire.

I tested this out. All fine here on my XP Prp IE 8

Loading seems faster and the loading bar is white.
Minipages: What's the purpose of the yellow arrows when inserting an object.
the borders still turn white.

Basically features I use still work ok.

Firstly, there appeared to be a speed improvement and the loading bar is much less intrusive (color & size) and ghosting definitely improved... that's the good news.

The bad news is:-

a) i then cleared the cache and it appears the loading on an empty cache is slower than the current version on an empty cache.

But the BIG issues discovered so far are:-

b) i am getting lots of text drop outs on normal pages and mini pages... complete components missing after i cleared the cache. But if i view the sites in the current deployment again they are fine.

c) my AS3 swf's that run perfectly on the current deployment won't play on the beta version.

d) a slide show gallery with the blinds animation is behaving very oddly.

e) animation components with expand on rollover behavior do not go back to initial positions before rollover event.

That's the discovery so far.

These sites run perfectly fine on the existing platform on Firefox 3.5.3 and on Safari 3.2.1

The sites are for a client and they are cannot be exposed yet (client instruction), so i can't name them here, but if you give me the Q&A person's email i will copy them into a test account and email the account info, if you wish to inspect them.

I noticed that a new site that I built today was not showing up in my account. As far as I could tell that was the only thing. That was both in firefox and explorer.

You mean it's not showing in the test site?

It's not supossed to.
Log in to your normal account and it should be there.

Hi Guys,

The new loading bar is fantastic. Very slick.

Problems (In Explorer):
My maps don't work.
The navigation squares on the right hand side (in the editing screen) are massive.

Apart from that I can't wait to try out the new features. Try and give the contact us boxes a new lease of life. They are a bit stale.
