It’s not a trick question but one of the most commonly misused and confusing terms I’ve seen posted in this forum.
Many posts referring to minipages are actually referring to pages and the reader needs to decipher what the original poster (OP) is really talking about. The reverse also exists where the OP talks about pages but in fact means minipages. I believe there is a need to clarify or distinguish the difference, especially when one creates a post with the intention of other people being able to understand the context and meaning. The OP needs to understand that the reader needs to visualize the context of the post and replay this post in their mind, in essence, to see the problem. Another major problem is that many posters are not acquainted or familiar with the use of paragraphs, comma’s and periods. A comma or period misused or omitted can effect and change the context of the message and squashing it all into one paragraph only contributes to the confusion. So, is there a difference between pages and minipages, is there a difference? There are three types of pages. 1. What is a Main page? You are creating a Wix site, this site consists of three blank pages. Page 0, Page 1 and page 2. These pages are correctly refered to as ‘Pages’ however should be referred to as ‘Main Pages’ , main page0, main page1, and main page2. This leaves no doubt in the readers mind as to what you mean. 2. What is a Minipage? In many posts, a minipage is often referred to as a page, where in fact it’s not a page, it’s a container, or a book if you like. These books ‘contain’ a further number of pages, up to fifty each. So, when you’re referring to a minipage, say minipage, and if you have more than one minipage on a main page, refer to them as minipage1, minipage2 etc… Although a minipage is correctly referred to as a minipage, I believe it should have been called a ‘minibook’, eliminating any confusion. This leaves no doubt in the readers mind as to what you mean. 3. What is a Minipage page Slide? Minipage Slides are the pages contained within the minibook. There can be up to fifty pages contained within this minibook. These pages within the minibook should be referred to as slides in my opinion, and this terminology should be adopted by those not entrenched in the old terminology. Which of the two following statements make more sense? "I have a minipage on my page that has a waterfall on it with three pages I have a picture of a monkey on the first page and a picture of a dog on the second page and a picture of a cat on the other page I want to copy the picture of the cat to the next page in another minipage and I want to copy the picture of the dog to my first minipage." How do I do this? Now the above makes perfect sense to me, I have described what I have and what I want to do. I’ve read it back and yes, makes perfect sense to me. The question is, DO YOU UNDERSTAND IT, I think not! There are actually posts like this and the OP wonders why he/she can’t get an answer. Take a look, it’s all squashed into one paragraph, no commas or periods and everything is referred to as pages. Now let me re-write this post the way it should be written, it takes a little longer but is coherent. (I Hope) My site has three main pages, (page0, page1 and page2) Main page0 has a waterfall background and a minipage with three slides. Main page1 also has a minipage with three slides. Slide 1 of the minipage on main page0 has a picture of a monkey, a picture of a dog on slide 2 and a picture of a cat on slide 3. I want to copy the picture of the cat to slide 1, of the minipage on mainpage1. I then want to move the picture of the dog from slide2 to slide 3 of the minipage on mainpage 0. How do this? This second post, also a little to difficult to understand, once read maybe twice, can be analyzed, visualized and understood. In short people, Write Clearly, Differentiate, use Paragraphs, Commas and Periods and you’re likely to get more replies.

Landrieu, please consider making this post sticky.

Hello Ole, Good to hear from you. I recently checked out how many posts I've made on the forum. I can't believe the number of posts I've made. I'll be staying here quite a while I suppose. However, until Wix improves, and I mean greatly improves, I'm no longer making sites to sell. Wix's lack of features and I suspect stability problems has forced me back to Dreamweaver. I've got DW CS4 but I'm a rank newbie at it. I'm sure Wix will improve over time but seems to me a long time. As I say, I'll continue to be a member here not only because I have sites to maintain for clients but also I have a lot of fun here. I like answering posts and making jokes, usually I crack myself up...lol My secret desire has always to have been a stand up comic however mostly now I do it sitting down. If I was in better health I probably would be a comic. That post 'Difference in pages' is a bit long and I don't think many will read it. Nevertheless, newbies at least should read it and adopt the new suggested terminology. Glad to know your a wix designer although I don't really understand it or how it helps you. Anyway, take care Ole. Mario
