Default A quick question

When I finaly get my wix to work with my domain.. What will appear in the address bar

www.wix.com/paulscottlive.co.uk

or

www.paulscottlive.co.uk.

Another quick question?

I have 2 domains paulscottlive.co.uk and aboutthehousuk.co.uk now .....

aboutthehouseuk.co.uk is hosted by 123-reg.co.uk and the domain name paulscottlive.co.uk is not hosted by anyone at this time I have just purchased it.... My question is does my domain have to be hosted before I can upload my wix page to it... or is it the fact that I have a domain name and I just have to point it to wix servers have I made any sense here lol

cheers

If you have bought the Premium Unlimited package it will appear as www.paulscottlive.com with no wix mentioned at all in your domain. A favicon, a fancy name for the little gold wix man encased in his blue square will still remain however. But wix are working on removing him in the future they have said.
BUT you have to go Premium for your wix website to be uploaded to your own domain - and once you have done that, it is simply by pointing your domain to the wix server and all is well in the world.

Hi,

Here's how to link domains to wix sites : http://support.wix.com/index.php/Connect_your_domain

It s not necessary to have some hosting but it s cool if you need to mix wix and html to have some more options.

Yes I keep getting directed to that page it's not answering my question or I am not understanding it right. My domain name is www.paulscottlive.co.uk I purchased this domain but the company I bought it from is not hosting my website. My question is do they have to be hosting my website for wix to work...

Cheers

No, your WIX website is hosted on the WIX servers, always will be. You just need your domain from somewhere else, and point to your WIX Premium Unlimited website.
it is a bit of a headache but search this forum, many have had the same issues.
Where did you purchase the paulscottlive domain?

Hi Paul

my domain is registered with www.123-reg.co.uk I managed the IP myself I went into my control area went to edit DNS and where it said www and @ I changed it from A to CNAME and put in 216.139.213.144. clicked update and thought that is all I had to do... is there anything else I need to do...

Cheers

Default point to WIX

Have you gone into the document settings in the WIX editor and changed edit URL to your new address?

Who is Paul?

Ok I have contacted my domain provider and they have told me that instead of using CNAME in my DNS control I need to put it as 'A' directing traffic to the IP adress wix provided when I became premium is this correct?
