Hi Everybody,
While our R&D team is working to repair bugs, I thought we could use this thread to share our troubleshooting tricks for common problems. Anyone wishing to participate and contribute from their experience is cordially invited to post here. Please note that these are not official Wix solutions, just workarounds suggested by forum members. Thank you Daryl, Kat7, Chefinblue and Dave. Fix for Error -20 error Whats happening is a IP conflict with the server side computer and your local Machine. Confirmed Fix - 1. You must access your account and load a image from a different computer not on your local network. Myself went to a friends house and was able to load images. Log out 2. You home computer now should be able to log in and load images and media as well. You should have purged the server side of its conflicts. Goodluck, Wix Staff - I will send a bill "FIX for Error -20" Ghost Image Solution I sometimes get the ghost image when I open the editor. What I have done to solve this? 1. CLOSE the editor WITHOUT saving. (having checked the images first to see if there is a ghost image... they are usually the same culprits, so easy to spot). 2. Re-open the editor, after clearing cache. If you saved while the image was a "ghost" in the editor, you need to "replace" the photo with the same one. Sounds ridiculous, I know, but it works. __________________ ~K Ghost Image Solution How I Fixed My Upgrade Problem So I was *finally* able to upgrade a few moments ago and this is what I had to do to make everything work (not sure which/all of the below helped but you might want to try it if you are having problems as well): 1. Switched to a PC (vs my Mac) and did the following (as recommended this morning via an email from Premium Support): Please logout your account and go to : Adobe - Flash Player : Settings Manager - Website Storage Settings panel and delete wix.com from your flash cookies on your computer. 2. After this I once again cleared all history and cleared my cache. 3. Downloaded and installed a fresh version of Adobe Flash Player just to be on the safe side. 4. Went into Wix and edited the name of my site (removed a space between two words and ran them together) and saved the site again, creating a second copy of the site in question. Creating this newly named file corrected the image on the payment page which gave me a true feeling of hope that this time things would go differently. 5. I logged out and created a new account with new user name, pw and email. 6. I followed the Wix directions for saving a file under a new user account. This wouldn't work on my Mac BTW; I could open the new account but whenever I went to save the file it never *took* and the new account never showed the newly saved file until I did everything on a PC. Coincidence? I don't think so. 7. Once I was on a PC it saved the new file easily and quickly and I was able to upgrade via the newly created account. I really think that removing the space from the site name and saving the site under a new account is what really did the trick...the new user account prob made the biggest difference. Hope this helps someone else out! How I Fixed My Upgrade Problem Figured Out a PayPal Solution I had the same problem alot of people had with the Wix paypal options. After a few hours of messing with it I think I have a good work around you guys can use. If you're like me and need to use paypal options (like subcriptions etc) or cant get the paypal button provided by Wix to work properly, the following process may fix your problem. Go into your paypal account and view the html code of the button you created and want to use. There will be two tabs. One for "website" and one for "email". View the code for "email" and copy it. This code is actually the complete address the email button takes your customer to. Make a generic button (not a paypal button) in Wix and give it the behavior to "Go To URL" and simply paste the code you copied into the area it provides for the destination URL. You can now have a paypal button that works like one you make on the paypal site but now you can customize it however you want! Hope this helps!
