OK!! We have a conclusion to this issue now.
I have my site in frameset and after MONTHS of having it up using my own meta tags (in index.html), I wasn't getting picked up on search engines. I decided to try and use the meta tags inside Wix and un-checked the "list in search engines" and I am now #1 on Google... It took less than two weeks since I made the change. My wix site (with the wix url) isn't showing up, so that's good. Only my domain url shows up. So, thank goodness this issue was figured out. So, for anyone using embed or frameset, you should use ONLY the Wix meta tags. Last edited by JennyJ; 11-06-2009 at 10:37 PM. |

That's really excellent news, Jenny.
So after all this time, the advice you were given and using was exactly opposite of what it should have been. When embedding a site in a frameset DO use Wix meta info, do NOT use the HTML meta info. And you're saying now you're #1 on Google again. I think it would be instructive to everyone if you could tell us what kind of search you're talking about? As I was talking about in this thread: Making sense when talking about Google searches --we tend to get awfully vague and general when talking about Google searches. Since I've never seen you post the URL of your site, I don't know what the site is, where it is, and how it comes up with various search terms. Maybe you could tell us more? rbowser |

If you have a domain name either forwarded to wix or outside of wix (embedding the site), you should unclick the "list in search engines." If you want your actual wix.com url of your website to show up in a search, then click on list in seach engines. |
