Built to Last: Creating Healthy Minipages

Hello again Oleg,

Well, QA's back with a verdict: the problem was created by creating too many minipages within minipages.

Let me explain.

Mini-pages within mini-pages can create an amazing website but what you need to take under consideration is that the more mini-page you add (to a single mini-page) the more burden is being inflected on your bandwidth (hence your website may be slow to operate).

So here is a rule of thumb: it’s recommended to add up to three mini-pages within a mini-page and not exceed that amount.

Note: if the content of the mini-page appear in all the mini-page pages, you need to make sure that the content you're adding has been attached to the relevant slide. When pasting the content, make sure the mini page borders turn white, which means the attachment was successful.

Regarding other glitches, there are two known bugs in effects: the "dance" and "pop" effects. The dance and pop effects are designed to move according to sound waves when the microphone is in use.

In order to avoid the annoying message that asks you to connect a microphone it's better not to use these effects (until we fix them).

We're also aware of the problem in language encoding and fonts; we're on it.

Oleg, as i have said before you really do very good work.. my compliments on amjgroup.ru, a very professional design and one that Wix should be proud to feature as it really is a showcase for their product's potential.. well done again.

With 27 sites now you must be one of Wix's biggest individual clients, i would think.

Were there changes made to the minipages? Are they becoming separate pages? I am a little confused.

It's hard to have any animation on any page but the first because it is all loaded by the visitor gets to that page.

BUT, going from "page to page" on Wix is a little hard since there are things loading on every page and ghost images.

I'd rather have minipages stay the way they are to avoid ghost images on the sub pages...

Ok I am with you Jenny, What is the point of having so much space if you cant use it. I was visiting the forum again to see if any issues have been resolved since my last issue I had with Ghost images. IT was quite a suprise that ALOT of people were having the same issues...what was more suprising is that I put in 4 tickets that were unanswered for a week. So I say...why do I have to login to a forum to find out network wide issues. I think they are virtualizing all our sites which makes for POOR performance. But I was really visiting the forum again to find out what the issues were like but I see that its the same old thing... too many mini pages and too many large pictures. Sure thats fune and all but I had the same site up and didnt start having issues until everyone else was. Crazy huh? Well i have a new customer that needs a simple site but again.. this just confirms to me not to use wix ever again as the support is um.. less than what a premium memeber would expect. So my next question is... does anyone know of an alternative to Wix that has decent support and reliable? I would be glad to hear of it. I like the ease of setting up a wix site but thats the only good thing bout it. I guess its because I know it. I did visit a template site and bought a template (REAL FLASH) and got a free year of hosting. FTP hosting. But OMG you would not believe the support...it is UNREAL and if they had an flash editor then i would be sold but no luck yet. Anyways..if you want to hear about it I would be hoppy to tell ya about it. Amazing service and located here in the states heheh... but anyways..I still get ghost images and man my site takes FOREVER to load. I think Wix needs alot more room for imporviment ..they are just not there yet and in my opinion launched too early. In any case... great idea just bad execution. And for crying out loud..get phone support geez!
